to exercise a full 30 minutes in one shot. I'm losing weight and while I recognize the heart health benefit of a sustained workout, some days it works better for me to spread the exercise out.

Spreading out several shorter work outs during the day will overall boost your metabolic rate burning more calories overall. However, longer workouts develop better cardio vascular training.

I will say execise for 30-40mn a day will be what you ar looking for and it is the best way.
