Parents' divorce had the most significant impact. It impacted the relationships that I formed starting with my mom and dad thru friends/coworkers/boss to my husband/children. The 2nd most significant but also necessary for this discussion is the death of my dad (he was only 52). It wasn't until he past that I could see the first. I don't know why the blinders came off, but they did. Things were rough at first because there was lot of BS to get thru before anything authentic could come about. Now I just wish that people could have been a lot more true to me, but everyone has their problems and illusions. And all is forgiven.
