Its not about the law its about the $$$ and who you know.

Congress recently wanted to make Washington, DC a smoke free city, for everyone but politicians. With fines to those who got caught.

And cops don't get tickets from other cops. Look at the history of any city and you find stories of cops planting evidence, assaulting people even murder. How often does this go on before they are caught.

Say you are in a white car and a speeding white car goes by you. A cop pulls you over and gives you a ticket for speeding, wrong car, same color. You lost. You might as well pay the fine. If you go to court, you miss out on work and no matter what you tell the Judge he will believe the cop.

yes we should abide by the law. Of cos there is someone above the law. Example : Corruption and dirty government officers and their enforcer officers such as policemen, internal affair officers. And, also the rich and the famous people too.

Only the truth and geniune ordinary citizens are below the law. :P I broke the law, I am charged for the committed crime.

The ancient biblical question....well it's a question of what kind of person do you want to be? Or what kind of path do you want, a difficult rocky one or a peaceful drive through the sh!t? It is freedom of choice, but there are consequences. And no, no one is above the law, it is written and applies to everyone. It's people that bend them or have lots of money to.

re: cops do get tickets from other cops. my fiancee got a ticket from a CHP and she didn't give a crap that he was a cop. Said he should have known better!

So we don't go to jail.
If by "above" you mean even if detected they can go free, sure there are some that are above some laws. Nobody is above all laws.

In America, no one should be above the law. Sadly, that's not always the case but that's the way it should work.

To avoid legal entanglements and incarceration. I'm sure there are people who think they are above the law, they're the ones that haven't been caught yet.

Don’t think of laws as a super power telling you what to do, it’s man made law, it keeps people in check, it’s wrongs that society has deemed undesirable
