after you wash your hair, towel dry it a little so that it is damp, apply plenty of mousse and then straighten your hair, it should be much better for it. also make sure you clip the bits of hair you aren't straightening at the moment on the top of your head otherwise they will get too much close exposure to the heat which isn't at all necessary.

One of the most important things is to not straighten it without some type of product on it. Also, if at all possible invest in a good straightener, not the ones you buy at the drugstore. I use Paul Mitchell it costs over $100, and believe me I thought that was ridiculous. But what a difference it made!!

There are hair sprays you can buy to put in before you straighten your hair.
Also try lowing down the heat setting.
if you don't do this your hair will become damaged over time.

you can go to a hairdresser an get it chemically straighten but dat doesn,t agree with everyone orrrr u can use hair products that straighten your hair u normally have to wash your then put the product in and then blow dry it but i fry it and dat works better for me , but it's whatever works for your type of hair my hair is course.

use a good product like matrix sleek.look iron smoother or paul mitchell heat seal they are sprays u spray on each section b4 u iron.

After you blow dry it, spray CHI Iron Guard over the sections you are going to flat iron.
