You know he's not lying if his fingers aren't moving (no type coming through...) But really, the only way to catch a guy lying is to do extensive research on his ID and pick up on little clues. These things take a long time. Sometimes you can get wrong impressions from pauses in chat that are just a little too long (implying he's chatting with several other people at the same time--you can ask if he is chatting with his friends in an oblique way but this is not foolproof). Anyway, it is almost the same as telling whether he's lying to you in person, except that you don't get the visual clues. Substitute lots of background checking if he has other online hangouts or mutual friends you can ask. That's about all I can suggest!

If on the Internet I would say that there is a 90% chance that a boy is lying to a girl. Or vice versa.

You can't. Lots of people use the internet for fantasy fulfillment, so whatever they say can be a total fabrication. That great guy/girl you've developed a relationship with may be a 50 year old geek slobbering all over his keyboard. Gross, eh? Well, that's what it's usually all about.

I was chatting with a girl on internet some years ago and she sent me pictures of her and she looked like helen hunt ...I arranged a meeting and she looked like rosie o donnell.... that is why internet dating isnt worth it.. I told her off for lying and left without looking back... looks arent everything but blatant lying is terrible

If you met a guy on the internet how do you know he is even a guy. Most people that try to get dates on the internet make themselves out to be someone they are not.

You really don't know if he's lying to you over the internet, its just the chance you got to take if you are talking to one on the internet.

truth be told you don't know.
if your willing to talk to a guy and you like him. Than you are A) making a mistake
or
B) meeting the man of your dreams.
there is know way to know, but what ever you do don't meet him by your self or at all in that matter a fact.
