Am I giving bad answers?

Probably not. I don't get many picked. Best answers I have noticed so far have been chosen based on whether the answerer agrees with them, giving them a pitty part, or people didn't state their question clearly and only one person got it. Also, younger people don't seem to like the older answers. Only a few I have noticed there were chosen were good answers.

No, you are most likely giving fast answers. I would focus on quality over quantity and really spend some time giving detailed answers on subjects you know well. Also, remember than you can look to answer questions about subjects that you are well-versed in, not only the most recent ones. I bet that if you do these things, you will get more "best answers." Good Luck:)

Try answering harder questions instead of just giving your opinion. Forget about the "points" and put more effort into the answers like you did when you first started out.

I don't think you are giving bad answers - that's the way it goes.
Take a look at Richards "Best Answer" total - maybe you can
get some inspiration from him.

probably not - it may be that in popular categories there are a lot of answers and people don't go all the way through the answers when selecting them.
