My dog is extremely hyper. She's always jumping on me and other people. If I go take a walk with her, all she does, is constanly sniff the ground, and never walks calmly. In fact, she's the one pulling me!!! So I don't walk her anymore. At Home, I can't keep her unleashed because she's so wild that she tries to break the fences in our yard, also digs holes...to escape under them..just to join my neighbor's dog. (Happened already, and they weren't too happy) ...............Our yard is a mess !!! She dug holes everywhere!!! I can't take it anymore...and I'm thinking about giving her away!! Where can I go to drop her? Will I pay a fee?

First point is energy. A young dog has a lot of energy. By not walking/running the dog you are making matters worse. The second point is companionship. Dogs are very social creatures and need companions. If you don't provide companionship for the dog he will find it elsewhere, like in your neighbor's yard. The digging and hyper-ness will resolve itself when you take care of those problems.

A dog will either establish dominance or you will. So far the dog has. You need to take some dog training classes and practice. It isn't the dog, it is the lack of training and leadership you exhibit. Don't abandon the dog to the animal shelter, that's plain cruel. Take the responsibility to be a good dog owner.

I have had the same problems. As for the digging, that's a way for a dog to release tension and bordom, try giving her some really strong nyla bones or good chew toys. Put her on a line. Watch for when she goea to the bathroom and when she's done bring her inside. As for the jumping... this takes miles of patience and training. Use healthy treats as positive re-inforcement. Eventually she should realize doing what you want will bring yummy treats and praise. i have beagles and they require walks and long play to disperse some energy. If your house is big enough try lightly throwing a ball around and have her retreive it. Wear her out!

Maybe you could try obedience school. Petsmart offers them for free at times. And what about toys? Does she have a lot of toys? It just sounds to me like shes bored and needs something to keep her occupied. And to be honest not taking her for walks anymore is hurting her. She has a lot of energy sound like already, so you should take her for walks to release some of that energy. Good luck!

The pound! Then go get two kittens! They are self sufficient. No taking them out to go #2, they are hyper for only 2-5 minutes at a time and usually only play with each other, but it's hilarious!. Then they crawl up on your lap and sleep for 11/2 an hours. Cats rule, dogs drool!

This is what happens when an owner does not train their dog. Your dog is not at fault here, he is just an animal. Hire a trainer.
