the will was diy and no solicitor has been involved my two sisters have not allowed me to read the will and at first denied that there was any will but on the day my dad passed away I was present when my niece read his will wich was basicly that his estate should be shared between three of us, ie his remaining pension and any money he has in the banck , it is not a lot but they are refusing to let me have any of what my father has said is to be shared and are trying to say that any money that should come to me should be taken off a phone bill and a catalouge bill which was simply a deep fat fryer that was purchesed a year ago which has now obviously been paid for

There are more arguments over wills in families than almost anything else. Talk to them about there reasons for cutting you out, did you run up debts for your dad while he was alive and your sisters are angry about it, there must be a reason why they are taking this matter into there own hands. Talk to another relative to see if they can work something out, it does not seem worth arguing about your dad has just died and feelings will be running high. If no help ring up the citizens advice bureau they should be able to help you for free. Good luck.

can you afford to file a legal case against your sisters? The father's will is the right of the daughter and if you consult legal advisors, you would win ultimately. Of course, you must self-educate yourself on all parameters of legal rules on execution of wills (Look up the Internet and Wikipedia to start with) so you can save some money while discussing your cases with an experienced lawyer because I heard they charge on a per hour basis. I advise you to prepare your presentation and be to the point, in your dealings with the lawyer to save more of your money. Also, you must consult legal precedents in the execution of will cases. READ more on what happened with people who were on a similar position as yours. That would prepare you for the right approach.

If you can't afford to pay anything, better forget it - hard to say that, but you've been cheated by your own family and it's a setback to you. You will have to then work hard to improve your financial fortunes, and then maybe, you can file a case against your sisters.

I am sorry to say this but being greedy is not a good idea. Maybe you should just give it some time and wait for things to settle down. I mean your father passed away and all you guys seem to be worried about is the money. So sit back and think about your father and what he would have wanted.

It doesnt matter if it is a DIY will as long he didnt break any rule of will writing. If he did the will becomes null and void and the laws of intestacy would need to be followed. This means that you and any siblings would inherit equally in law. See a lawyer PDQ

Go to Citizens Advice Bureau. I get the impression you are pretty young so need someone to advise you. A check should be made to ensure the Will is legal. Whatever you do, go and get some expert advice and go from there.

A: It's so obvious that there is more to the story. The three of you need to grow up, take responsibility for your mistakes, hurts, and bad choices, and try to work together. If not, get a lawyer!

its such a shame this happens an awful lot.If it was HIS wish for it to be split 3 ways then they should honour his wish. They are totally wrong. It really doesn't matter about phone bills and deep fat fryers here, the point is they are not doing what he expected of them.

Do not fight over anything...Went through this when my father died. Sister wanted all pictures and personal belongings, fine take it. Her now ex husband burned EVERYTHING. Good thing I have several pictures I took!

I will make sure all my boys know exactly what who is getting and I am spending all the money before I die. No fighting this way...

Tell your sisters they are being rude and not being receptive to your needs at this difficult time. Tell them they have one week to provide you with the things your father left you, or you will have a lawyer enforce the will. Then, get a lawyer ASAP!
