If you have a home office you MIGHT be entitled to a deduction. There are very exacting rules for HO deductions. Google "home office" on the IRS website for complete information.

Some states do grant a deduction or credit on the state income tax return for renters in lieu of the property tax deduction that they would have been entitled to if they had been homeowners. Not all states do that and there is no similar deduction for renters on your Federal income tax return.
