In the third season, episode 38 of Mythbusters, they did the Biscuit Bazooka Spinoff
Myth: A black car heats up faster than an identical white car. (Spinoff of "Biscuit Bazooka", from Pilot Episode 2)
Status: Confirmed
A fan wrote in and asked a follow up question: "Does the color of a car affect the way it heats up?". The MythBusters used two identical cars, one black the other white and left them both out in the summer heat with thermometers in both. By mid-afternoon the black car had heated up to a temperature of 135°F (55.5ºC) while the white car topped off at 126°F (52.2ºC), 9°F (3.3ºC) cooler.

When I lived in Florida my silver car got too hot! Black will be damned hot if left out, I bought a cover for my car. A pain in the butt at times, but the car was quite cool.

in texas yeah maybe not soo good of an idea, but its texas every color car will get hot. try parking in shade , under trees use bldgs to block afternoon sun so its cooler when you get off work.tint windows if its not against the law. like it is here in northern illinois.

From the point of view of the temperature, it will be hotter inside, causing the air coditioner to work harder. It will also be more difficult to keep clean in a dusty envirement

Sometimes, but as long as it has good AC then you should not be worried about it. If it is a new car then the air conditioning should be excellent!

Not a great idea, but if you have a good A/C it won't matter much. Get the windows tinted though, it will help.
