Grilled Chicken and Apple Sandwiches
From Linda Larsen,

This sandwich cooks beautifully either on a nonstick skillet or in your George Foreman dual sided indoor grill. It's one of my favorites.
INGREDIENTS:

* 1/3 cup mayonnaise
* 1-1/2 cups grated Swiss cheese
* 2 stalks celery, chopped
* 1 apple, finely chopped
* 12 slices whole wheat bread
* 2 Tbsp. butter

PREPARATION:
In small bowl, combine chicken, mayonnaise, swiss cheese, lemon juice, celery and apple. Make sandwiches with the bread. Spread outside of sandwiches with butter. Grill the sandwiches, covered, over medium heat, turning once, until cheese begins to melt and bread is toasted.

Great Sandwich Fillings

Tired of the same old sandwiches? Mix it up with these fun and inventive sandwich fillings!

We all have our favorite sandwich fillings: tender ham with lettuce and mustard; roast beef and horseradish; egg and watercress or the classic BLT of bacon, lettuce, and tomato. But with a little imagination you can transform the humble sandwich into a mouthwatering creation.

Instead of butter or margarine, try spreading bread with mayonnaise or a little pesto, a smear of powerful tapenade or sun-dried tomato paste, or some new and delicious chutney.

Here are six creative fillings that combine unusual ingredients.

Hummus and Natural Dates
Toast a pita bread lightly on each side, then slit it open. Spread hummus on both sides of the interior and push in four or five split and stoned natural dates and some chopped fresh coriander leaves to make a vegan sandwich.

Peanut Butter With Cranberries
Spread two slices of granary bread thickly with crunchy peanut butter. Top one slice lightly with cranberry sauce, bought or homemade, then add a generous topping of shredded iceberg lettuce mixed with chopped celery. Season to taste with salt and pepper and place the second slice of bread on top.

Brie With Grapes
Cut a baguette into two or three pieces and cut each one open lengthwise, stopping just short of cutting all the way through. Thinly slice some well-ripened Brie and pack it into the unbuttered lengths of the baguette, squashing the cheese down slightly. Grind some black pepper over the cheese. Halve some seedless grapes, either ruby or green, or a mixture of both and lay them on top. Fold the tops of the baguettes over the filling and decorate each serving plate with a small cluster of grapes.

Smoked Salmon With Cucumber and Cream Cheese
Split a bread roll or bagel in half and toast it for a minute on each side. Spread one half with plain cream cheese, arrange slices of smoked salmon in folds on top and cover the salmon with wafer-thin slices of cucumber and a sprinkling of chopped dill. Add some fresh-ground pepper and top the sandwich with the remaining piece of bread.

Turkey, Avocado, and Pesto
Split four large croissants in half and spread the cut surfaces evenly with a little pesto. Thinly slice an avocado and arrange the slices over one half of each croissant. Top with some wafer-thin slices of turkey, scrunching them up slightly, and arrange a few strips of drained sun-dried tomatoes over the turkey. Sprinkle lightly with salt and black pepper, press the two halves of each croissant together and serve.

Mashed Raspberry and Banana
Finally, for a great sweet filling, toast slices of brioche or raisin bread and fill them with banana mashed with a few raspberries (these can be fresh or thawed from frozen).

And, there are tons of great ideas at the links given below!!!!

All the very Best!?!?

Cheers!!!!!

EDIT:

WOW!? I got 2 thumbs down for this???? Wonder why????

You are not obligated to tip. The person who stated that the place is a dump because there is no trash can is off base. Many sandwich places want to be a step above fast food and so customers are not expected to clean their own tables. I used to own a major chain sandwich store. I and my employees would often go to the tables to offer to get refills, carry away trash, etc. It wasn't done in the hopes of tips, but to make the experience a little more special than grabbing a hamburger and fries. If you are a regular customer than you might want to take a small holiday gift. Our walls were covered by Christmas cards sent by customers. One perk is that you will be remembered and receive better treatment. If you are not a regular and feel the employees did an amazing job in customer service think about how you would tip at a buffet. (Yes folks, you should tip at a buffet. The standard is 10% of the bill.) If you don't feel comfortable leaving money make a point to mention to the manager or through the corporate website what a good experience you had. We are often quick to complain, but not to compliment.

Depends on what your menu already looks like. My signature sandwich was a chicken BLT. And guac was the spread.

Or you could do pesto or a stone ground mustard spread. Do you already do things like meatball sandwiches, reubens, pastrami and Swiss on caraway bread? Club sandwiches? California Dreaming (ham bacon turkey avocado with normal trimmings)? Have you thought about a vegan sandwich, patty melts, ham and brie on pumpkin bread? Philly steak sandwiches, prime rib sandwiches.

I probably have more, it's been a couple years since I've worked with sandwiches...but my sandwich menu was looooong.

Lucky you! I alwasy fancied running a sandwich shop to counter the dearth of tasty fillings, here's a few of my favourites - keeping in mind I do have something of an 'out there' palatte, but if I do so do others!

Bacon, Cambozola and Cranberry
Smoked Ham, Cambozola, sunblushed tomato and fresh basil
Humous, Olive and sunblushed tomato
Chilli and cheddar
Tuna, mayo and wasabi
Tuna, lime and pink pepper
Black pudding and prunes
Pork sausage and apple

to name a few

I am really disapointed at my local sandwich bar as they never sell just a good old normal snadwich its always something posh like tikka spcy chicken!id love to see them start selling chicken mayo and salad bagautte but be a bit more sparing with the mayo! also a good plain cheese sandwich or ham also for them to sell without butter as they refuse to do but im dieting and dont want butter i want something not fattning!

I'm afraid I just like traditional sandwich fillers like ham and colesaw, chicken tikka, egg cress etc.

But how about doing some market research and having a look at what is being offered in your local area.

How about having themed sandwiches, like at Xmas turkey with stuffing and cranberry sauce (my fave!) or think of Valentines day, Easter etc approaching and how you can do something different with your menu then. You could it as a special alongside you normal menu.

Have a look at having a varied bread selection (olive, nut, seeded, pitta etc) different baguettes, different bagels and sauces as they can make all the difference.

Marks and Spencer do a really nice Wendsleydale Cheese with caramalixed carrot chutney and some leaves of rocket on wholemeal, should definatley try that or I know it sounds revolting but I had a panini the other day which was Hoisin chicken with cheese, sounds odd combination, but when it was hot it was lovely!

I would suggest something for the picky eaters! Like me. Something that has only meat & cheese. No veggies or condiments. Just something plain but looks great. Try some kind of thin sliced steak with melted cheese, turkey-swiss-turkey-toasted bread! I recommend toasting the buns on all sandwiches.
