Not all Christians are raised in church, and not all of them fall away even if they WERE raised in it. Some do. Many don't.
And I know many Christians who became that way much later in life.
I ALWAYS mention the fact that I was raised in church. I also mention the fact that the reason I fell away, is because no one could answer my questions.
I did get into some trouble, but I didn't get arrested or anything like that. I don't have a criminal record, and the only addiction I have is to cigarettes.
And it is NOT my upbringing in church that caused me to get in trouble. I'm not going to spill my whole life story here.

You need to find out where your anger is coming from.
Were you hurt by someone who claimed to be a Christian?
Or, are you just afraid that we may be right?
Check it out - everyone makes mistakes - many people are raised in some church - not all of those people become Christians as you claim with the broad stroke of your brush.
Sounds like you need to do some more in depth investigating of the Christian religion to find out what it's really all about - Forgiveness & Love - Jesus.

I wasn't raised in a church.

Also, for those that were - just being around a church doesn't make you a Christian. The key is in your question, being 'born again' or born of the Spirit.

Being born again requires a sinner to 'repent' or turn from sin and then to put their trust in Jesus. A lot of times, someone who has grown up in a church and is a 'good kid' doesn't see the need to repent of anything. It takes a bad episode for them to see they really do need to be saved.

Hope this explains a little.

Ah, I understand what you're saying. Atheists never get into serious trouble because they don't think of what they are doing is wrong because they never had anyone tell them that they are doing wrong...

So, since it was not defined as being wrong by any moral compass, they are not doing wrong. By the same logic, they don't do anything right either. Everything is morally neutral. They just do things.

Therefore, they don't see how they can judged since there is no right or wrong in their eyes. Yet, they believe their reality will alter God's reality. So that's why they'll be weeping and gnashing their teeth in anger at God when He judges them.

Interesting... Thank you for your comments.

BTW, I was not brought up in the church... I guess I came by doing wrong naturally, huh?

1) I wasn't raised in a church - my parents were agnostic

2) I never got into any serious trouble

3) I didn't 'find' Jesus - He found me, but He did change my life for the better

4) Whenever I tell my story about Jesus, I tell how He showed me and brought me to Himself. (Psalm 22).

You are generalizing - Christianity is not 'going to church' - it is simply accepting the free gift of salvation provided through Jesus' death and resurrection. I am not perfect, I am human, but God is doing a work in me and I am growing and learning (albeit not as quickly as I would like).

Ok- that has to be one of the most amazing theories I have ever heard, about how people become Christians. Where do you get your information about Atheists not getting in as much trouble as Christians do- WE ALL SIN AND FALL SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD- the Christian, however, if they are truly born again, realize that more of course- because we know that is the sacrifice of Christ that forgave us of our sins. People who are not Christians are not as apt to admit their sin. They have told me this themselves. I was raised in a church- and I was known as the kid that was "perfect"- the "girl next door"- so here is my story- even though I was such a good girl- my goodness could not save me- because I am sinner just like the rest of them- I FELL SHORT OF HIS GLORY as well. Please, before you judge the "born again believers" look inside yourself and you will realize that your heart, as well as the whole worlds is deceitful above all else. Satan has blinded the world to this fact. Christ died for you too.

You just don't get it! Not all Christians were raised in the church. I certainly was not. My father was a drunk and my mom just gave up on life and drifted into mental illness but I still accepted Jesus as my Savior.

sorry, your premise is grossly in error.
I am a born again Christian and I was not born into nor raised in a Christian church.
and, I never got into trouble before I went looking for God (and He found me).
you just have no clue, do you?
your statements make you look very, very foolish.
try the mythology catagory.....
not knowing what you are talking about will not be a problem there.

What is your evidence for your claim that people raised in church get into "more trouble than the average atheist"?

And what is your evidence that church "caused them to have the mindset to get into trouble in the first place"?

I accentuate the word "evidence." Anti-Christian bigotry and intolerance do not count as "evidence."

I'm a born-again Christian and I was not raised in any church. I didn't become a Christian until I was 18.
