Hi everyone,
I'm about 13wks pregnant with twins!
I'm both very excited, as this is my first pregnancy (I say 1st, b/c I've had miscarriages before, but MUCH earlier on), and overwhelmed at the same time.
Have any of you given birth to multiples? How do you manage feedings without doing it all daynight long?
I will be having a C-section (b/c of back problems) and I'd like to breast-feed.
I know it's early yet, but I'd appreciate any advice you can give me. Thanks in advance! :)

first of all congratulations I am a mother of 5 including twins ,I had a c-section too,and the only problem I had after birth is to manage breastfeeding because of the pain and the stitches, but is the best, you just have to find a comfortable position and don't give up.My twins born premature and I had to breastfeeding them every two hours or so,the only thing was that they had different schedules and keep me up all day and night, very exhausting but also I enjoy very much have these two little babies close to me.
Don't worry everything will be OK and you will be surprise how strong you are.good luck

Congratulations! I have 3 year old identical twin girls. My first piece of advice is if someone offers help after they are born. TAKE IT. You will need all the help you can get. There is no shame in having someone help you. You'll need time to yourself too in order to keep you from going insane lol.

Twins are very demanding. If you plan on breastfeeding you will need to try and feed them at the same time or within 30 minutes of each other. I never suggest waking a newborn to feed them but with twins it is essential. Especially if you do not want to be a 24/7 feeding machine who looks like a walking zombie LOL.

I also suggest tandem nursing them using the football hold. Have a Lactation consultant at the hospital help you with that. Once you get it down it is so much easier. When they get older you can start nursing them one after the other.

I supplmented formula with my girls when I needed a break and when I was out in public. That worked really well for us. I waited awhile to introduce a bottle though.

Good luck with your pregnancy. I hope you have a happy and healthy one. Keep those babies in as long as you can :)

I breastfed my twins. I can't give you any advice on not getting up all night. But good for you for wanting to breastfeed. It was a little challenging for me. Mine were preemies and had to nurse every two hours regardless. But being up all night was well worth it. Because now my babies are three and healthy I wouldn't change it for the world. :)
