terrorism is a global problem, but security starts at home, so the police needs to be involved, the liberals will fight anything that the government does to solve this problem. That is why liberals are the biggest threat to peace in the world today.

I don't disagree with questioning suspects but it has to be on 100% accurate information. People who are arrested should not be revealed until they are proved with some evidence otherwise those who are released will have a terrible time after that.
There are several terrorists cells in UK openly targeting some minority communities as I have found in the article below. It is very sad that British police is only considering muslim extremists but totally ignoring other extremists. To be a safe it has to be any extremists that need to be considered and deported.
In Britain the Tamil Tigers are proscribed as a terrorist organisation, blamed for prolonging Sri Lanka’s bloody civil war. They are banned from raising funds or holding meetings.
The Sri Lankan High Commission has raised the matter with the Home Office and the Serious Organised Crime Agency. A High Commission spokesman said: “We know the LTTE are coercing money from Tamils but it seems that, unlike with al-Qaeda-linked terrorist groups, the police do not have the resources to act.”
I have no idea why British police ignore there extremists? Will british public accept any country helping other extremist groups?

Countries that give the police unlimited power are usually dictatorships. In UK people have rights, so the police need to operate within the confinenment of the law. We need to be careful when operating around issues where race and religion is at the forefront of operations. It is too easy to victimise parts of the population and this will only lead to further tensions.

It is the job of the police to keep the peace. It is the job of the police to enforce laws and to arrset or detain law breakers. It is also the job of the police to show just cause for the actions that they take. It is important for police, because of the power that is entrusted to them, to justify their actions. In a free society, police may not simply arrest just anyone or break into anyone's home. If there is cause to look in a particular place for evidence of terrorism, it should be quite simple to show that cause.

Rightly so police should do their jobs and protect the community but unless you put some measures how they are performing their jobs then they will become untouchable and come "terrorists" themselves.
One should take responsibility to their actions, well if they follow the book they have nothing to worry so you can relax too. Saying that no one is perfect LOL

The general population is the first defense against terrorism.
The police need to be involved.
People seem to forget about 9/11 and get all mushy about human rights. What about the Innocent people that die due to terrorist activity,
Where are their rights?

The police should take care of local matters. Terrorism is a global issue that needs to be dealt with on a Global scale.

Could it be that the Police are focussing their attention on Muslims? We couldn't possibly have a situation like that, it might just offend someone. Better let the terrorists get away with murder than risk offending a minority group. The fact that every UK terrorist known to the police (300+ of them) is Muslim is irrelevant.

The only people disagreeing with this are Guardian readers and some muslim cranks. Banish the lot and insist they read the Daily Mail.
