Click onto your "picture" & your profile will come up. Then click onto edit profile & you should see an option to add a picture.

Your avatar allows you to do exactly this. You head over to the right-hand corner in Yahoo! Answers and click on the 'My Q&A', choose edit info, and click on 'Edit My Yahoo! avatar', there you'll be able to change your avatar's image.
