No! That is just the tradition of men! No where in the bible does it talk about a secret Rapture for the "Saved" to be taken out. We are to be here to witness to the lost during the last days.

No. The whole purpose of the rapture will be to testify to the world that the true church of Jesus Christ has been removed from the world and that the Great Tribulation has begun. God always has a witness for the things that he does. If the rest of the world pays no attention to him, then that is on the world, not God.

Rapture is a new doctrine, invented in 1830 by John Darby, an ex-angican clergyman that resigned the Church of Ireland and formed a sect called the Plymouth Brethen, that still exists. He developed his doctrine based on the "visions" of a 15 year old girl. The rapture is nowadays supported by Fundamentalists, Evangelicals, Pentecostals, Baptists. In the rapture, the true Christians are snatched from earth to meet Christ in mid-air and be taken to heaven. Its supporters claim the doctrine is based on 1 Thessalonians 4:17, and Matthew 24:40 , but this is bad exegesis. The doctrine is antibiblical, as shown here (includes the "supporting" verses):
* 1 Thess. 4:17 - We shall be caught up together in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air- but verses 13-16 set the context to what Paul is saying, and it is obvious that he is talking about resurrection and the final coming of Christ since verses 14 and 15 say “God, through Jesus, will bring with him those who have fallen asleep... we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will surely not precede those who have fallen asleep”:
•Mt. 24:40 - Two men will be in the field; one is taken and one is left; however, see Lk. 17:35-37 - Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left." 37"Where, Lord?" they asked. He replied, "Where there is a dead body, there the vultures will gather." (Is this heaven !!??)
•Mt. 13:24-30 - “First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles for burning” - the wicked will go first
•Mt. 24:21-22, Mk. 13:19-20 - “at that time there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will be. And if those days had not been shortened, no one would be saved; but for the sake of the elect they will be shortened”- How can there be “the elect” during this time if they went in the rapture?
•Mt. 24:31; Mk. 13:26-27 - At that time men will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. 27And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds - How can there be “the elect” during this time if they went in the rapture?
•Mt. 24:47 - One man is rewarded (salvation), Mt. 24:51 - The other is punished (hell) - that leaves no one on earth
•Mt. 25:31-45 - When He comes He will come to judge the living and the dead
•Mt. 25:46 - Some go to eternal punishment, some to eternal life (no one left on earth)
•Lk. 17:26 - And as it came to pass in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man - In the days of Noe the ones left were the righteous
•Jn. 12:31 - Now is the judgment of the world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out
•Jn. 17:15 - “I do not ask that you take them out of the world but that you keep them from the evil one”
• Act. 1:11 - This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will return in the same way as you have seen him going into heaven - when He returns He will be coming all the way down to the earth (not hover above it)
-Act. 3:20-21 - ...Jesus, 21 whom heaven must receive until the times of universal restoration of which God spoke through the mouth of his holy prophets from of old - Jesus must stay in heaven until that time
•1 Thess. 4:15 - Jesus is coming back once more (not twice for a rapture and judgment)
•Heb. 9:28 - so also Christ, offered once to take away the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to take away sin but to bring salvation to those who eagerly await him

Well in a sense the rapture in itself is pretty much secretive.... And i say this because the true believers of the one true Christ are just supposed to vanish (i always imagine a Harry Potter apparition noise). They leave behind all their worldly possessions ( this includes clothes!)

Here is a letter I wrote to *super preacher* (John Hagy) awhile back. Of course I did not get an answer, but please take the time to read it. It gives the Books, Verses, and Quotes from the Word of God that states that this Rapture Teaching Theory IS WRONG. There will NOT BE a Rapture. Someone wrote me awhile back and said that God was talking to the False Prophets of that day,and it had nothing to do with today. If that is the case, IT DOES APPLY TO TODAY AS GODS WORD DOES NOT CHANGE. It is the SAME yesterday, today, and tomorrow, and I wish that the person who wrote me that has his eyes open now. Spiritually I am speaking. IF one is a Christian, that is taught in Sunday School at a very young age. (Gods Word changing) Please read this and I am sure that it will help you. USE Gods Word to check it out as I have given you the passages to read for yourself.
I try to watch sermons on TV whenever I get the chance as I do not have transportation to get around. I am so tired of listening to (preachers and teachers) teach something that is not in the Word of God. How many people are going to be led astray, and when they find out it is going to be too late for them. I do not claim to be a scholar or a perfect person, but if you take time to study Gods' Word as it is written, and do a little reasearch, you can know what it states. Some of it is very hard for me, but I believe that the Lord gives to each person revelations that is for their own good. It would not be much of a world if everyone had the same understanding about everything. One day we will have full knowledge, and that will be when we go to be with the Lord. We will know how to truly worship Him and serve Him. There is something I feel I have to say and I hope and pray that it will help someone who may be asking themselves about this subject. If there is anyone who may be able to explain it different or if I am wrong, please write me and let me know. The only thing I ask is for you to use Gods' Word to give me an answer. If there is such a thing as a Rapture, what does Ezekiel 13: 17-21 mean? The Lord Himself is condeming false prophets and prophetesses teaching prophecy out of their own hearts. You could go to the beginning of Chapter 13 verses 1 through 23 and it would all apply. Just about every (preacher or teacher) I have ever heard preach this doctrine, never once approaches this chapter or verses in their sermons. I have heard them also state that you can take and use Revelation where John was taken up in the Spirit and shown what was to happen in the future and use that to say he was raptured, and that was proof that there was going to be a Rapture. That only applied to John at that time when he was exiled to the Island of Patmos and the Lord showed him what events were going to happen in the Lords Day. If he was raptured, he would not have written the Book of Revelation for us. People also use 1st Thessalonians 4 : 14-17 to use as proof of a rapture. You have to go back to verse 13 and pick up the subject. This states nothing about a Rapture. Paul spoke colloquial Greek, ( used in or characteristic of familiar and informal conversation ). Paul was a Master of many languages, but spoke to the people he met and was writing to so they may understand him better. People also use Elijah and Enoch as a reference to the Rapture. They were transfigured as the Lord was shortly before His crucifixion. You can also put Moses in that catagory. Man was not allowed to bury Moses, and it stands to reason that Moses was transfigured also as no one has ever found Moses' body. It is my true belief that the two witnesses that will appear in Jerusalem will be Elijah and Enoch. They will be killed there after their prophecy of 1260 days, and will lie in the street for three days and a half. Then the breath of life from God will enter them and they will stand upon their feet and the people will hear a great voice from heaven saying unto them, come up hither, and they accend up to heaven in a cloud. This is not a rapture or proof there is one either. The Word of God clearly states that Jesus Christ will decend from heaven with a shout and with the Voice of the Arch Angel. God Bless each and everyone who studies His Word and may he always help us to study His Word, and to walk with Him as best we can while we are in this old world full of misery and sin.
