Why are people assuming an atheist took the cross down when the article stated it was not? Why are people assuming *I* went to this chapel? This has nothing to do with any experience of mine.

If you take the time to answer, take the time to read the pertinent information so you do not look like a fool!

Thank you to those who did read the article in question and offered an intelligent response.

Julia -- this is one of the answers from that question: "They should determine that its a historical monument and leave it how it is. What do atheists have against our countries history and tradition. "

First, you should not expect people to go to your designated site before they should answer your question. Put your question into a brief point of information so Answerer's can reply and move on to other Questions. To get upset over people not obeying your instructions is not helpful to you or others who enjoy answering questions.

As for the cross matter, I did read the entire article, and the point is, it's up to the school and it's members to decide whether the cross should be in the chapel, or not.

A chapel is basically a quiet, set-aside place, for meditation and/or prayer. It should not be an advertisement or support for any religion. The point is to discharge all thoughts of the World, to commune with spirit and selfless aspects of ones being. The less selfishly conflicting items to distract anyone from their personal communications while in the Chapel, the better. Let it be a place--quiet, set apart-- and those who come there will leave knowing the reason for coming back whenever they can...to commune with the Spirit that lives in all mankind...that spark of life, called by many names, the Creator of the Universe, the God who gives life to all, answers to anyone who opens their heart and their mind, and lifts the veil of humanness, even for a single moment.

>>>Why are people assuming an atheist took the cross down when the article stated it was not?>>>

Who was assuming it was an atheist?

I just went and read all the answers to the question you mention.

Not a single one of them asserted that an atheist took down the cross. Not one.

Take the time to read the answers -- without reading things INTO them -- so you do not look like a fool.

Lots of people don't read links. It's probably better to paraphrase the article briefly, then ask your question. No one looks like a fool for refusing to read a long article, if the questioner can't be bothered to paraphrase.
