The world is more immediate. We are flesh and blood creations; therefore, we are moist affected by materialism from day to day. We are creatures with olfactory senses and we live in a world where we cannot exist except that we rely heavily upon them. this puts us in bondage to the world----there is no escaping it in this life. Aesthetics have been trying to do so for thousands of years, but no matter how much effort the put into mortifying the body they still cannot escape the fact that they rely on the physical laws of this planet in order to survive. Spiritual growth come from not ignoring the physical, but bring the body under submission, that is complete control, of the Spirit of God that is within you. Jesus said that the kingdom of heaven is within. That kingdom that he was talking about is submission to the Holy Spirit whereby true fellowship with God is possible. We cannot serve both body and Spirit. If we serve the body, we die; but if we serve the Spirit we live (Romans chapter 8).

Because I am assured that in Heaven everything will be fine for me for ever, while here, on Earth, I have no assurance that one of these days somebody will blow up the planet (I would really appreciate arriving in Heaven in one piece!).

Because they think they have to. They don't understand the concept that eternity begins today and they fail to find heaven on Earth.

One has to be with the present and perform duties in the world.Every one must be thinking of heaven, if not consciously,definetely subconsciously.

coz people r blind with sin, their eyes cannot behold the heavenly things.the can see only worldly things not heavenly.
