Anyplace warm! Actually, we have a couple picked out in the Caribbean...Georgetown, Caymans or Nassau, Bahamas. Both places have friendly people, great scuba diving and wonderful food.

Either Bangkok or Pattaya,. Thailand. Why? I love the food, the weather, and the people. I like a place where you don't have to wear alot of clothes most of the time. And I could own or rent a condo a mile from the beach without wiping out my savings. Condos sell from USD85 per square foot to USD150 per square foot. I live in Southern California where the housing is now at USD 300 to 1,000 per square foot. And the cost of living is much lower.
And it's only 18 hour flight from home. Think about it. If a family crisis came up. I could be home in 2 or 3 days. Not much differrent than if I retired in Las Vegas. And the ocean is much furthere away there. I would change my permanent residence to Nevada. No state income taxes like Florida for those of you on the East Coast.

Monterey, CA seemed like a great place for retirement from what I saw while I lived there. Just because it's a beautiful area, and it was too big and still with in a somewhat short trip to visit a large city.

Savannah, GA
The weather is beautiful, the southern hospitality is amazing, and it's on the coast. I love beaches so that is the one dream that keeps me going everyday!
Plus, it's not as expensive as some other places. I won't need ten million dollars to last me 10-20 years.
