The problem with software is the people who write it and the people who use it. 90% of both categories are stupid.

The problem with soft ware is that it is having to work with all computers, and they are not all the same. This gets worse when one realises that there are so many different types of program that it is probable thay there will be conflicts.
A quick analogy is the humans in the world, even in as small group of people there will be conflicts, they may not be earth stopping, but they may make you late for work.
The so called specialists are supposed to know the bypass fixes to allow you to get around the traffic jam or the train strike, but in reality most of the time they are using a best guess system on what is likely to work.

Hardware can't conflict, it just sits and runs til it breaks. But software can conflict with other programs in unforseen ways.
The user can misuse it.
Plus there is 'emergant behaviour' within programs where two pieces of code can combine to produce a third unexpected result.

It's the need for corporations to make money. So they release systems or software prior to getting all the bugs out.

If you are ever looking for a reliable up to date operating system, give UBUNTU a try. It's FREE plus all the software that you will ever need is FREE!!! You can order a CD or download it at HTTP://www.ubuntu.com.
