Drug Addictions....which leads to another social issue poverty and homelessness.
And Mental illness...a tidal wave of mood disorders that is epidemic in my opinion.
The links below concerns self-injury which is a disorder I am studying at this time.

care of the elderly and infirm. It's easy to ignore this when you are young, but the conditions in care homes and the appalling pensions are dreadful. Sadly, it is something we must do something about now since the baby-bom generation of the 60s will, in a few years, be themselves elderly and have to deal with this. Demographics show that we have an ageing population and yet we don't have enough care plans in place to deal with this. We will all suffer as we get older (and we will all wish we'd done something about it)

Global Ignorance: We all are ignorant of others, the enviroment and our biosphere.
We are destroying the very cradle of life- our planet
As third world countries develope we will go beyond the point of repair and future generations will be in survival mode to ensure the species doesn't become extinct. This palnetary warming is releasing viral and bacterial species into fruitation as they thrive in warmth. Like Avian Influenza...
God give us the sense to save ourselves...

Immigration reform. Specifically, our handling of illegal aliens.
This, of course, isn't the only social issue about which I am concerned. The need for immigration reform is so pressing, however, that it cannot be overlooked; we need better solutions than what our President has proposed.

Poverty! So many people in our country live marginally. Add to that the abuse and neglect of children, and you have the top two issues that I try to do something about.

Compared to some answers, this one doesn't seem important but to me it is. Its about teaching children good manners and how to be polite to other people and trying to keep calm when you really want to shout and scream and hit someone! I say children but an awful lot of adults could do with lessons in manners too.
