okay, i was really REALLY stupid and got a tattoo of my ex boyfriends name on my butt. PLEASE dont lecture me on that, i was on drugs at the time, and all that crap...

id like to get it removed, but money is a serious issue, how much does it cost? Its just the name and a couple flowers below it, about 2"high and 3 or 4" wide. I have other tattoos, so I dont mind getting something over it to cover it if i couldn't afford to have it removed...

How much does it cost to get one removed, and would it just be easier to get a tattoo to cover it up??

It is fairly expensive to get a tattoo removed, up to $1000. You might want to talk to a tattoo artist to see what they could do to cover it up. I've seen some pretty good cover ups.

Tattoo removal is VERY expensive and painful. It takes multiple trips but according to your size specifications of the tat it would run about a grand+ where I live. I would suggest a cover up if this is too much $ for ya. Or I have heard of a cream that breaks down the ink in the tat and it dissipates through the skin *I have no experience with the cream* but have heard others say that it works well. Its not really cheap but is a lot less expensive than the laser removal here is the link to the site. Good Luck!

Hey.. :-) Well I'm with you girl! I had my fiancees name tattooed on my rib cage (I personally don't care for other people's opinions either, especially since we are still together; I just didn't like the way the tattoo came out). I covered it with a tattoo that came out fairly large, BUT my tattoo was bigger than yours (the way you're describing it) I HIGHLY suggest you do that instead.

Tattoo removal on average can cost about $400 per square inch-- and you need up to 6-7 sessions for it to be 100% effective.. And even after all that time, pain & money, perfect results are not guaranteed. Colors are harder to remove, by the way.

I understand why you want it off! But I suggest covering it up instead.. And who will see it? It's on your butt! Good luck to you!

You'll be looking at a few thousand to get it removed. The laser amount may very depending on where you go. It will be multiple sittings and if your tattoo has a lot of green and black and is very deep into the skin (assuming it's a homemade tattoo) the laser may not be able to get rid of all the ink. Personally, I think doing a cover-up would be the cheaper way to go.

tattoo removal is notoriously expensive , i have been looking into this subject myself as i have some tattoos i would love to loose. there are a few different methods to get them removed from laser treatment to some ink destroying creams. they are all ongoing treatments though and not a one off thing that magically gets rid of the offending tattoo. per treatment you can look at £100+ ( $180+ approx ) and maybe require 6 or so treatments.. your best bet as money is a factor would be to get it covered as this will be much cheaper.. ( tattoo size and colors are a factor in the price of removal )

Yes, you are right. Tattoo removal isn't even that efficient yet. My friend has a tiny one behind her ear and shes been trying to join the marines so they want it removed, and its taking her FOREVER. It's fading reeeeeeeally slowly. She said they have to do one treatment, wait for it to completely heal, then do it over again and again and again. It's a long process. Tell your friend to start growing out her hair or something because unless she has thousands of dollars to spare shes screwed until some new technology develops to erase tattoos.

removal is expensive and painful, depending on the size could take several trips to get it completed. Suggest a coverup, see a tattoo person and ask what they can do with it.

laser...yes it could be done....but it cost wayy higher than just covering up the tattoo with something larger and darker...
hey the bright side of this is it is better to be on your butt than on your arm or leg where ppl could see.
