Have you noticed that a cat's lower back ripples when stroked? Does anyone know why it does this?

It's their nerve endings creeping when stimulated.
It's an involuntary response to being touched.
Kinda like us being tickled and no matter how hard we try not to we laugh.

well it can be the cats sensitivity that causes its back to ripple or it can be the cat feeling good by their love they receive and they want to show you how much they enjoy it....

All of our cats do that.
I asked my Vet one time why their skin seems to "Crawl" when we pet them.
He said they're doing it simply because it feels good.
