Well, we will be celebrating today.

I've pretty much finished preparing seasonal foods for the feast (smoked turkey breast , roasted turkey legs, roasted root vegetables, bread stuffing with dried fruit, home-made breads of three varieties, custard pie, and an apple pie from dried apples, sweetened with honey and with a crumb top), and the other folks will be bringing fresh cheeses to round out the feast.

We'll be doing a home and hearth blessing at my sister's house (and burning the Yule log we used this last Yule as a candle-holder), and sending home candles and a house blessing for all the folks. We'll be blessing the candles that we each will be using for rituals for the rest of the year.

We'll be reading poems about Brighid, and stories, and sharing about what we want to have grow in our lives this year.

Candlemas is also my sister's B-Day so there's candles lit irregardless and cake!!! It's always a celebration that day so it's easy enough to pour out a little more (wink wink nudge nudge) Besides, it was good and cold up Nort' here for it this year (well below zero for us. Being with Family and Freinds is always a good way to celebrate any holiday Pagan or otherwise. Blessings.

We enjoyed Imbolc. We brought fire into our home to light our fireplace and have kept the fire burning all weekend to honor Brighid. We also did some cleaning and organizing around our home and spent time planning some major landscaping we'll do in a few months (this includes planning a private outdoor ritual area).
