So it is official! Yesterdays report by the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change says that human activities are the cause of global warming.
So why are you still denying it? How can you argue with science? What make you think that you know better? What kind of news are you listening to?

Have to choose between Gem and Bob. I wouldn’t trust politicians when it comes to questions in science. Politician will use any problem to advance his/her agenda. Just take a look at Al Gore’s film. Full of political BS. Why didn’t he do anything about GW when he was in power for 8 years? Pollution in the western world is decreasing year after year. Are the pollution levels going down fast enough? No, not enough! Nevertheless they are going down. Meantime in Asian cities there is no oxygen left to breath. China is planning to build 500 coal powered plants in the next 10 years. It is the only country where pollution is getting worse. Stats per capita is just manipulating of numbers. It is the total amount of pollution that counts. But, we can only point fingers if we’re without blame. Pollution is everybody’s business!

We do not have accurate temperature readings going back more than a couple hundred years. Bring me the ups and downs of our planet's weather patterns for the last 10,000 years and then we'll talk.
Also, since the world is not imposing any new regulations on the single, largest contributor to global warming, (China) it really doesn't matter what laws we put in place for the rest of us. Once again we will impose sanctions and rules on Western businesses and people, yet turn a blind eye to the one country that will cause all the problems in the name of cheap stuff.
If we as a world, don't force China to live up to their responsibilities all the bs forced down our throats won't do any good.

There were only 2500 "participants" at the Paris meeting. This is in no way a majority of the scientist involved in climate, meteorology, earth science and all the other related fields. As far as I can tell there is still NO consensus on global warming causes.
I agree that man made pollution has an effect. But I disagree that humans are the total cause of global warming. And I can find support for my standing.

Deniers have three main reasons.
First, they believe propaganda from the fossil fuel industry and the extreme right that information about global warming comes from biased environmentalists. They haven't researched it enough to know that this is a solid scientific consensus among all scientists. I suppose I need to reference the fact that this is the consensus of the whole scientific commubity:
http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/full/306/5702/1686
That's two years old. The consensus is a whole lot stronger now.
Second, they would rather deny that it's a real problem because if it was that would mean they'd have to make real changes in their lives. People do that about many things.
Third, they have some financial interest in not believing. "It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his income depends upon him not understanding it."
Disbelief will go down slowly now that major Republican leaders like McCain and Bush, and many business leaders, are saying that it's real. But reasons 2 and 3 will still apply and cause some vocal opposition.
"The science of global warming is clear. We know enough to act now. We must act now."
James Rogers, CEO of Charlotte-based Duke Energy.
"Our nation has both an obligation and self-interest in facing head-on the serious environmental, economic and national security threat posed by global warming."
John McCain, Republican, Senator, Arizona
"These technologies will help us become better stewards of the environment - and they will help us to confront the serious challenge of global climate change."
President George Bush

Hey Gem... let's talk...
In the past 650,000 years ice core samples show a steady and even up and down pattern in CO2 levels in our atmosphere roughly between 200 and NEVER above 300 parts per million. Now they are at nearly 500 parts per million and rising sharply. Scientific FACT.
C'mon girl. We need to wake up and work together.
The time of consequences is upon us.
PS: China PER CAPITA produces less waste than most. The figures look bad because Chinas' population is so vast. Of the 6.5 billion people on Earth China makes up over 1.3 billion!

their are just some people who will not believe what is happening in front of their eyes,, and think that old folk don't know any thing about anything, but we have seen it changing for years, but nobody listened to us,,and now your going to try and change it the way you see fit,, don't you see that their is some of us who really can make a difference if you let us and act on what we tell you to do,, or are you going to carry on regardless
