i think OMG expalined almost everything for u in lenses field but i have to add the following....Sony DSLR-A100k have a 18-70mm too((not only Nikon D70)) and Sony DSLR-A100w comes with twin lenses ((18-70mm & 70-300mm)).
the 18-70mm considered as wide angle lense ....macro coz of 18mm focal length ....zoom coz of the variety of focal length between 18 and 70 mm so it has a 3.9x zoom....and it might be considered as a mild telephoto lense coz of the 70mm focal..good luck.

You're probably thinking about the Nikon 18-70mm zoom - this is the kit lens for the Nikon D70s and I don't know of any other brands that have an 18-70.
On the Nikon D70, the 18-70mm is a nice 'standard-zoom'. This is a lens that goes from moderate wide angle to moderate tele, and it should cover about 80% of most people's needs.

A macro lens, is a lens that's great for close-up shots (of insects, flowers, jewelery, etc.) Some lenses are purpose built macro lenses, and some zooms just have a macro feature - these can be used for macro work, but they don't provide the best image quality for this kind of work.

A zoom lens, is a lens where you can turn a ring to zoom in and out. The opposite of a zoom lens is a fixed focal length lens. With a fixed focal length lens, you have to zoom in and out by walking closer to/ further away form your subject. Zoom lenses provide convenience but fixed focal length lenses usually provide better image quality and better low-light sensitivity.

A telephoto lens has a focal length of 60mm or more. It can either be a zoom lens or a fixed focal length lens. E.g., a 200mm lens is a telelens, and so is a 75-300mm lens (all of the numbers are bigger than 60mm).
When I said that the 18-70mm lens should cover about 80% of your needs - a telephoto lens will usually cover the other 20%.
Dedicated macro lenses and fixed focal length lenses can be considered specialty items. So can ultra wide angle lenses, like 12-24mm zooms. And to be complete, there are some truely exotic lenses, like fish-eye lenses and tilt/ shift lenses. These are things that most people never need at all.
