There are rescue places all around. Depending on the breed. They got a greyhound rescue, golden retriever rescue. Best thing to do is call the vet and ask if they know of one with the breed that you are looking for.
There are also pounds (shelters) around as well. Your vet can tell you where the one is located in your county.
All are good places to find a new puppy. Just be careful of getting them from the shelter though. Breakouts of parvo can happen there. Ask them before you adopt if there has been any breakouts of parvo. You dont want to adopt one and have the puppy come down with it. Very costly and no guarentee that the pup will live through it.
