If it is a request from the American gov. - it is a processing fee that ALL that legally want to work and live here MUST pay. That is why those that have broken the laws and are living/working here illegally are 'illegal' - they have bypassed the laws and procedures that a law abiding person follows.

If the request is from someone other than the American gov. - more than likely a scam.

That is why it is IMPORTANT to follow the rules and regulations of any country one is attempting to enter into LEGALLY - so as not to be ripped off by those usually of that persons race that is making a ton of money off the ignorance of those that have already shown a lack of brilliance in making the choice to enter illegal and are nothing more than criminals.

u r required to pay a big amount of fees for applying for the green card. regular procedures

It is for processing the application but do not pay it to anyone but DHS. Do not be fooled by notaries.
