Contrary to answer above, Miller Lite is 4.17% ABV (alcohol by volume), and Miller High Life Light is 4.5% Bud Light is 4.20%. (ref 1). It's pretty low in alcohol content, but not as low as 3.2%.

Like you, going to school in Ohio in the late '60s - early '70s, 3.2% beer was what we were allowed to drink (being under the age of 21 at the time). I imagine that 3.2 beer mostly went away in the '80's (if it lasted that long) with the nationwide trend to decrease teen-age drunk driving and associated fatalities and injuries.

The NA beers are a good choice. One that's rated well for flavor is Clausthaler Golden Amber from Binding-Brauerei AG, in Germany (ref 2).

I have found out from experience that in some states 3.2 beer is sold in conveince stores that don't have a liquor license. I live in Arkansas and if I get "thirsty" on a Sunday I drive 15 miles to the Oklahoma state line where they allow ( only 3.2 ) to be sold on Sunday. If you can't find it ask a liquor store to order some for you, most of them will do custom ordering.

Most light beer is 3.2. Beers like Bud Light and Miller Light are both 3.2. I don't see how drinking these will help you quit, they just make me drink more because they are "light". I drink Icehouse and it is 5.5. They make stronger beers like Natural Light, it is 5.9. If you want to stop drinking, have you tried some of the non-alcohol beers? I have heard that they don't taste that bad and have no alcohol in them. If you are trying to quit, GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

IMHO, 3.2% beer is an oxymoron. However, it seems to me there is plenty of this alleged beer to be found. Check bottles and cans, as they are supposed to give the alcohol percentage.

Paul, why would you want to stop drinking? ! ! it tastes good, you have a great time socialising AND you can show yourself up no end and still not have the responsibility for it. of course, you pay for it the next day with a humdinger hangover but hey ! we cant win 'em all can we?!
