Is there a website for "mock test exams" either online or somethin i can print and grade myself, i know that there are books you can buy, however i do not wish to do that. I just took a test and failed by a little, however they are retesting in a few weeks and i'd like to study up.

thanks (future po)

It's a tough question because each agency is different. Some have a video tests that measures a candidate's decision making abilities and personality; and some have written tests that require memorization, and so forth.

The best answer I can give is to make sure you answer the way you feel, not the way you believe the agency wants you to answer. There are plenty of examples of poor police actions on television. So if a question asks you what you would do, make sure it's what YOU would do, not how you've seen others do it.

Talk to officers and research the departments you are applying for. Here in Arizona, there are so many open police positions, we can't hire them fast enough.

Some agencies have their own study guide or a study guide that they recommend candidates use. Make sure to find out if the agency you will be testing for has or recommends a study guide. If they do, make sure to use it. Most of the study guides or police test preparation books are pretty good. Use as many as you can. Make sure to understand why a correct answer is correct. Also practice your basic reading comprehension skills, your basic grammar skills, spelling skills, and basic math skills. Practice to improve your observation and memory skills. Make sure to get a good night's sleep the night before you take any police tests. Eat a healthy breakfast the morning of the tests. Dress appropriately. Don't be late. Make sure to practice your interview skills before any interviews or oral boards. Getting police officer jobs is becoming more and more competitive. Do whatever you can to make yourself the best candidate that you can. Don't do anything illegal, maintain a good reputation, keep a good driving record, don't get bad credit, improve all of your communication skills as much as possible, practice to improve your observation and memory skills, and become as physically fit as you can.

the first answer was answered by an idiot!!!!

depending on the police agency you are testing with, some have a study booklet that will help you in the preparation to take the test. do not worry, it isnt all that hard to pass the test, just hit math, english, reading comp. and grammar and you should do fine.....
