While smoking is synonymous with damaging one's health, a few marginal health benefits have been observed in smokers, reducing their risk of several diseases. It should be noted that the increased risk of terminal illness from habitual smoking is still widely believed to outweigh the benefits and should not be taken as evidence that smoking is healthful or beneficial overall.

I believe the nicotine, a cholinergic stimulant, decreases the levels of acetylcholine in the smoker's brain and thus gives them less chance of parkinsons disease. However, its much more benificial to eat nicotine than to smoke it.
