The Bible teaches us to observe the laws unless they conflict with God's word. Now Rev. Greene (and others?) are defying this law, declaring it to be "necessary" in the saving of souls. People will be eternally damned if they can't watch the game in church? Sure. But there's a double standard here, because Christian media companies won't even let you sing their songs in church without purchasing a license. "No, brother, you can't sing that praise song to the Lord in here because we don't have a license. Let's go in the fellowship hall and illegaly watch the game instead." By the way, I am a Christian and I'm not attacking Christianity.

For those who don't know (and call me uninformed), this is a current story in the news. A church in Indy is showing the game despite the fact that it's against the law for them to do so. It's not about watching football in church, it's about Christians breaking laws that do not conflict with God's word.

Friend I am glad to hear you are a Christian, I am too, First of all, I have never been interested in the super bowl, About the only sports I watch on TV is College Basketball, there is nothing wrong about watching sports. But don't let that TV rule over you, As far as Rev. Greene, I don't know him, But if the only way he can get people into his church is to watch the super bowl, then yes it is wrong. I don't see any Apostles of Old having chicken suppers, Bean suppers, or any kind of entertainment in order to draw someone to hear them preach. When a Church has to have programs to get people in, there is something wrong. No where does it say come & watch the super bowl & you will be saved, but in Acts 2:38-44 It does say, REPENT EVERYONE ONE OF YOU & be Baptized In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, & ye shall receive the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. I go to church because God dealt with me in 1970 that I was a lost sinner. Not because I need to watch the super bowl.

We used to play bingo in our church and the super bowl and out drinking.
A friend at the time took me to this movie there was partial nudity. A group of guys in the front were cat calling being real idiots. Lights came on and low and behold it was the guys from the church. Youth pasture was there so was the preachers kid....I grew up with those boys and never did go back to the church I grew up in, why I new others who do not go to church and who act better then this.
Depends how Christian you are I guess?

Showing the game in achurch is no different than showing it in a bar. People will watch it one place or the other. Many wiull watch it at home as well. It is just a football game nd some really costly advertising. I sure don't see what it has to do with any religion.

The game is on sunday so what better way to get people to go to church.

You are the one that is misinformed.

That pastor needs to read these scriptures...

Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Luke 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

For those who do read their Bible's daily, they should recognize when they are being misled and not doing what God tells us to do.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

I'd find another church if your pastor is falling away from the true word of God.

Now that is just silly. Christians Media Companies that won't let other Christians sing their songs without a liscense...oh man...what a double standard...I don't care about the Super Bowl, my Son. That's only a game....yes, I know, don't get your dander up..... I'd more worry about that double standard. Something's seriously wrong there.

Many who sing Christian songs these days aren't doing it to serve the Lord, which is why they don't want anyone using it without a license.

there is no law about it, its more a question of whether it is wise

I think since the Jannice Jackson - Justin TImberlake fiasco, church groups will think twice before having parties and youth events watching the super bowl

If you're going to watch it, then I think you should watch it at home and not in a church!
