people can get them at any time. If they make you short of breath, dizzy, chest pain, you should go to the ER. When you get them is not as important as how you feel, how long they last, and what is causing them. Some are dangerous, most not. Some people are very sensitive to stimulants, and can get 'benign' or not dangerous arrythmias. Some palpitations are more easily treated the sooner they're diagnosed. Good luck

When palpitation starts, count your pulse, if it is above 100/min than you should consult a cardiologist but first you should get your Blood Pressure Checked. It should be low. Consult a general physician.
