Nothing wrong with getting braces at a late age! I have a few friends around your age that had bad teeth, but whose families were unable to afford braces when they were younger
They have lots of invisible options now so that you walk around looking like a 'metal mouth.' For example, they have clear ceramic brackets, which gives a more invisible look to the braces.
There is also a product called Invisalign. It straightens your teeth, not with brackets and wires, but with a series of clear, customized, removable appliances, called aligners. The aligner is a thin, clear plastic piece that slips over the teeth like a glove would fit on a hand. Many people find that no one notices that they are wearing the aligners. Because the aligners are fully removable, there are no restrictions on what you can eat.
Check with an orthodontist to see which option is best for you!

I believe it is never too late to get braces! When I was younger I was not that concerned about my crooked/overlapping front teeth, but over the past 3-4years I have become more self conscious about them. As a result I contacted an orthodontist, and am now booked to get my braces in 5 weeks times, and I have only just turned 29. As long as you have excellent oral hygiene, little or no signs of periodontal disease, and have the money then there is no problem with adults getting braces. And remember you only wear them for 12-18 months approximately, and after that you will have nice straight teeth. I was at first put off by the price of getting braces, but after much thought I think it is entirely worth it, especially if it will improve your self-confidence, which in my opinion is something you cannot put a price on. Also the fact that you pay in installments over the course of treatment it only works out a few hundred pounds a month. I would say go for it, if you feel that it will make you feel better about yourself!

Yes of course you can . I know what it feels like to not have straight teeth . My bottom teeth where out of place and i could not bite into anything . But you can only live ones . So make the best of life . I'm only 16 . And i have bottom brace(s) but you will have a lot of pain the next few days after getting them . But the pain will go way . In 3 - 5 days but pain killers will kill most of they pain . And the could be wearing brace's for 6 - 4 year i think it's 4 or is it 3 I'm not sure . But there ok . And no one make fun of people with brace's even how old you mite me its ok .

Yes, definitely. I got braces at age 49! I just wanted straight teeth too, and now I do. It took 20 months; my braces have been off for 3 months. Adult orthodontics is very common. Don't let anyone talk you out of it or tell you it's a bad idea. Yes, there is a big adjustment when you get braces, but, hey, we're adults, we can handle it. Schedule a consultation with an orthodontist tomorrow - don't put it off any longer!

I love boys with braces! Do it! It's HOOOOOTTTTT! and then when you get them, give me a call!
Alright -aside from my little segue, if your teeth aren't really mangled then maybe you don't really need them? If you're self-conscious about your teeth then I think it's worth it for sure. Luckily, I got braces when I was very young and I love having straight teeth. Also, I have to say that girlfriends and I often notice what a guys' teeth are like. You realise that at 28 it will probably take a few years for your teeth to straighten even with braces bc your teeth don't move as easily.
Good luck.
And if you get it done, send me pics LOL

I had them at 40. That is because I had them 3 times before, and they didn't do it properly until the last time. Make sure you get a good orthodontist. Also, I recommend lingual braces (invisible braces) that are put on the back of the teeth. Nobody will know you are wearing braces.

sure, but also think about a orofacial therapy to protect your teeth getting back in the wrong place after taking off the braces. You might need to check if your swallowing pattern is correct or if your teeth are not straight because your tongue was pressing against them. You would get orofacial therapy from a speech therapist.

If your teeth need them, then yes, you can get braces fitted at any age.
