unless you take a drive in the countryside and find a library there....you might still find an old phonebook there....

Yes -with certain phone networks but only if you contact the operator and explain what has to be an emergency. They will then contact the number (without revealing it to you) and ask if the person is happy to accept the call or not as the case may be.

people are exdirectory for a reason. in my case i used to get loads of marketing calls which used to disturbe me almost 24/7.
i was on the TPS list but the companies did not subscribe to the list. i had to change my number and now only family members have my new number.
so short of actualy talking to the person or writing to them you can not get the exdirectory number.
if you mean can you be exdirectory then yes you need to phone your telephone companises customer service line and ask to be changed to exdirectory though i suggest you change your number when you do go exdirectory or you will still get those damned annoying marketing calls from companies who refuse to update mailing lists more than once in five years.
good luck.

You can pay the provider for your existing number to become ex-directory, or you can get a new number and ask for it to be ex-directory - the latter is probably more expensive though.

no, hence the point of being ex directory. You coulld ask the operator to pass a message to an ex-directory number, but they willwant to know the message first and you have to have a good reason, otherwise - no deal!

i very much doubt it u could try looking in a old bt phonebook if u know the people that lived in the house before then, but the person who moved in after them may have requested a new number...a bit of a long shot but worth a try!!!

The only way is to get it from someone who has it.
No other way unless person is ex-directory and calls are offered (very seldom as they have to pay for that service).
Sorry!

If someone likes you enough they will give you their ex directory number. Maybe they are ex directory so that you dont have their number.
