i was trying to watch a programme last-night about the scrolls but my sky box kept turning off and i missed it.
what are these scrolls and what do they translate into.also there was mention of four other books that belong to the bible from thomas...
im not religious but i am curious...thanks.

whilst this says there is nothing spurious in the scrolls, one has to question why the catholic church held onto them for so long and only published after immense scientific pressure.
personally i belong to the group that says there are a number of scolls that basically indite christianity as a cult as opposed the a valid spiritual path.
the fact remains that what ever the story, we will never know for sure, because if there is something there that does that, you can be rest assured that we would never be allowed to find out about it anyway. there is far too much money, and too many souls tied up in the religion to allow it.

Hi, they are generally believed to be the writings of a Jewish sect called the `Essenes` who protested against the laxity of the Judaism practised by the temple authorities, they removed themselves close to the dead sea and formed a settlement there.
John the Baptist is likely to have been an Essene, but certainly not Jesus.

They are scrolls of Bible stories (the books of the old testiment) found, I believe, in caves near the Dead Sea that date back further than most other artificats and are more complete than most other artificats.

They are fragments of the truth that was subverted by the Romans when they put together the bible that tells us about the judgmental God nonsense.
