So you've just had your kitten spayed & she's started hissing at strangers?
I think your kittens got a bit stressed out by the whole visit to the vets thing. Spaying is the responsible thing to do - you haven't done anything wrong - but this is what your cat thought about it:
One minute she was settled with a loving owner, then they went for a little journey. She probably wasn't keen on the idea of getting into the cat carrier in the first place & definatey didn't want to leave her cosy home (even if it was a bit of an adventure & safe because you were there). Then you left her with a strange person in a funny smelling place with lots of other animals she didn't know. They knocked her unconscious & when she woke up she felt funny and had a sore side.
Your kitten has decided that this means that strangers are not a good thing really and are probably best avoided.
Be patient & reassuring - she'll soon get back to normal when she realises that it won't happen again.
All the best.x

Your kitten is scared and also starting to show signs of being protective of you. Our kitty started this when she was a baby and she actually went after folks, never hurting them, just threatened them. She loved us and protected us like a dog would but as I said, she never hurt anyone nor us, she lived to be 17 years old. Let kitty know she is safe and she has nothing to worry about, just pet her. She may change, unless she is a siamiese. But what I told you can only help you,and her. I have one that is terrified of everyone, even the people in the large screen TV and the other one is scared too, but she is no where near as bad. You do want to socialize your cat with other folks, never push the issue, like forcing the cat into someone's pressence. Let the cat come on it's own. It is good that way so you won't have trouble at the vet's office and God Forbid, a fireman needs to rescue your cat. Good Luck.

As it's just a kitten, it's probably just scared and insecure. Although some cats just hiss as a means of expression. My 13 year old cat hisses at everything. It's just her way.

I have noticed when kittens learn how to hiss, they do it often.
After a while they move on to something else.
It could also be if you just brought the kitten back from the vet, the kitten is scared and letting you know.
Just comfort the little creature and let her/him know everything is okay.

Depending on the age of the kitten and the back round of the kitten if you get the kitten fixed it may help but or if the kitten is old enough and has been bred then she may just be having maternal instincts. Good Luck.

The older cat is playful simply by fact curiously he does not techniques sharing his territory with the newcomer. It probable has chanced on a sparkling meaning in existence now that the newcomer is right here. sure, many times the older cats would be extra territorial yet that may not consistently the case. My a million and a 0.5 365 days previous cat grew to become into so curious of our new kitten. He had to flow close to them and he in no way hissed at them, not on a similar time as quickly as. i think of it relies upon on the character of the cat. some are extra antagonistic and choose their very own area, some do not techniques sharing it with others. somewhat, for some vehicles it is many times relaxing! My 2 kittens' auntie has been ever so playful with them considering that we enable them to roam around our backyard. They flow up the bushes jointly and he or she is rolling on the floor fidgeting with them many of the day. interior the commencing up, the kittens have been hissing at her even nevertheless she meant nicely and grew to become into not gonna harm them. even nevertheless that's their very own instinct, to hiss at stranger cats, it is the ability for survival, even nevertheless susceptible it would desire to look. Granted that older cats, surprisingly tomcats, heavily isn't intimidated by such a susceptible, "infant enemy" even nevertheless it the only shot they have have been given. So, that's generic. do not concern, the recent kitten gets used to the older cat and could optimistically open as much because it and settle for being performed with. it is so eye-catching to work out that they bond so nicely and that they are actually not on my own! it is going to likely be a time so which you will sense pleased with them the two!

The kitten must have been traumatised at the vet and now does not like strangers. Put him/her in a place where he feels safe when you have visitors. Until he is feeling less vulnerable. Good luck.
