Full moon party is actually the foreigners who bring it on to these couple of places, to cut loose and do drugs. By the way, drugs are illegal in Thailand and closing one eye does not mean that drugs are acceptable. Just that the Thais are unable to police properly. So best to lay off drugs cause if caught on your possession, it will be a jail term for sure, before you reached Koh Phangan!
You will find that the crowds are majority foreigners just plain set on breaking loose there, and unpleasant stuffs do happen and not get reported. So if you are going to one, you have been warned. Make sure you stay sane or you may regret the next day. But someime even if you are sane, this does not guarantee that the rest around you behave themselves.
Guys have nothing to lose, girls have much more to lose.

Hi- Yes I have been to many.
They are as good or bad as you let them be. If you feel, see, share the love you will come away having had a good time.
If you arrive expecting it to be a few revellers on a beach with one sound then you'll be disappointed. They are the big commercial cash cow on this island. Without them KPG probably wouldn't exist. Well not to the level and standards international tourists have come to expect.
Imagine if your home town had a money making spin that attracted up to 10,000 people a month for a few days????
Be prepared, watch out for cutting your feet, weeing in the sea and if you do drugs make sure you buy them before going, so that you can look at what your about to ingest. Watch out for the mushroom shakes, they are often potent mixes of trouble. If you want to do shake do one any other time other than the full moon.
I like to drink a bit of booze and loose myslef in amongst all the weird trance sounds. (I hate trance, but this is the sound of the beach) go with it.
Mmmmm you'll either agree or think I should shut up gassing on.
Whatever you do, enjoy yourself and watch out for the bad people and police.

I went there twice! It's on Kho-Pha-Ngan, Surat Thani province, Thailand:-)
Having a great time, dancing on the beach, bar or even in the sea, drinking, chatting, screaming out loud! All of these things happens under the moonlight!!!
It's the best party ever!! except gay's parties in the U.S.A. or Europe!? it must be the hottest one, isn't it?
P.S. Actually I live here, If you wanna know more, just ask! or even a friend to spend time with, no problem.
