Because Moses and Abraham are both significant to God. They were both given promises by God. Abraham was even granted a covenant by God, the land that is now Israel. The reason for all of the fighting is because of the other son of Abraham and his descendants, they want all that was promised to Issac. Abraham had a son with his maid Haggar and she had a son named Ishmael. They were both kicked out of Abraham's camp when Issac was weaned. There has been bad blood ever since.
