Okay, I have this program that I can not uninstall no matter what I do. It's called themida. I installed norton anti-virus 2007 on my computer few days ago, and that's when themida started to show up everytime when I restart my computer. So, I uninstalled Norton, but Themida still stayed in my computer. Add/remove programs doesn't have themida listed in there. I tried to delete it off from registry, but didn't work either. I also tried to restore my system to last week, and for some reason, the restoration could not be completed... which had NEVER happened before. Can anybody pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease help me and uninstall this?? It's driving me insane. thanks!!!!!! Oh, i'm using VAIO windows XP professional

okay, so first when my computer restarts, the picture of themida thing pops up, I clicked on it once, and it dissapeared. Then, a looooooooooooooooooong time later, a window pops up that says "this application was protected with a DEMO version of Themida. Applications protected with DEMO version can only run for 20 mins." I left this window on, and opened task manager to find the program and end it. But there aren't any programs named "vmedia, or wmedia" can ANYBODY tell me what the hell its name is??????????

IN ORDER TO DELETE THE MESSAGE WHEN YOU LOG ON INTO WINDOWS XP, is to find the name. When logging on click the welcome splash of that Themida once to quit the first bit but dont click it twice(there are two splashs exactly the same). Press alt-control-del to open up that window and there should be a process named 'VMEDIA'. Close it to close the welcome screen. If it the welcome splash screen dissappears you know you've got the right one. Go to windows search by clicking the start button then search is to the right hand side and search 'VMEDIA'. It should detect about 7 files but 3 of them are the virus. They are embedded in system32 folder. Delete the files that have the exact letters 'VMEDIA' in that order, in them. One is an application, one is a file and one is some other crap. To test log off then log back in.

This worked for me and I hope it does for you.

I'm not sure how to get rid of it but you can keep it from running when you start up. goto start, run, and type in msconfig then click on start up. Find your program and uncheck it.
Then throw away Norton and go to avira.com for a better free av program. Norton fails lots of people. I had to reformat thanks to Norton. Avira gets them all and updates itself daily.
