Hopefully you will not be the only one that lives at your house who will be at your party.
Leave one of them in charge and go to bed.
I would not turn my friends away on this day. I would let them know I was under the weather, I would to give them free rein of the house but let them have the parts of the house i was going to had I been up and around.

That depends on how sick you are, and how big is your party.
If you are having over some pals to watch the game, and have food and drinks prepped - ask a friend to host in your place (someone is bound to have a livingroom!!), and he/she can pick up food and drinks so he has the party ready.
If you are expecting more people, say 15 or 20 people, you may want to ask someone to play host for you in your own home... that will force you to get out of bed and smile, but you still will be able to rest - as long as you don't wet kiss all the guests and that you wash your hands, contagion is not that much of an issue. And a little beer may help cheer you up!

Oooooh, tough question! I like the suggestion of having a good friend do the hosting for you at your place. But it also depends on how well you trust your friends in your home when you're not supervising them (are they the kind to be careless and strain stuff or are they more considerate?) and how bad you're feeling.... I've had flue where I felt bad and knew it wasn't a good idea to go to work and I've had flue where I just didn't want to *think* of doing *anything*. In the first case you'd probably be fine as long as one or two people you trust are keeping an eye on things, in the second case you likely don't want people anywhere around at all! But the fact you're asking makes me think it's probably not quite *that* bad or you wouldn't be up on the computer, even with the cough drops & hankies within reach :-)
No matter what you decided hope you're better soon, good luck!

I'd call the friend most likely to be able to replace me---ask them to host instead, give them the stuff I had bought for it and even ask if they'd call everyone for me!
BUT if I didn't have one friend I could rely on to do this, I would call as many as possible myself, ASAP and ask them to help spread the word that the party's cancelled, and put a big sign on my door saying: "SORRY--hope you heard the news that the party had to be cancelled at the last minute; Hope the Colts do better than I am!" (or whoever)

The best thing to do would be to call everyone to tell them the party is cancelled. If a few show up that you couldn't get in touch with, tell them the circumstances, and if you are OK with it, let them have the run of the house. Otherwise, just be apologetic and tell them you'll get together when you're feeling better.

You could always cancel the party, and I think that's best since you don't want any of your guests to get sick too.
Sickness is like force majeure - you cannot foreseen it usually and noone can claim their rights of coming anyway. Just tell all of your guests and apologize.

Call on your best friend to substitute host for you. That way you can stay in bed & not expose your guests, but everything can go on as planned. It would be hard to reach everyone at this late date anyway! Can;t be helped. Get well soon!

either way, it going to be hard if you let them stay they will feel uncomfortable since you don't feel well, if you send them away then their plans are ruined. so if really is p to you but if you call them early enough it might not be to bad for them and they can make other plans

that's really hard, i think maybe i'd have them come over and not stay real late, and just rest and come out when or if you can. I hope it works out ok.
