Is there a site where people express interest to buy Mondeo parts? I have a mondeo l reg 2 litre manual that i am looking to scrap.....loads to bits that are in fab condition.

your best bet is on eBay or check some ford owners clubs on-line

It all depends on what sort of promotion they have on the new car. There's not so much chassis profit in a new car as when you buy used. You will never be offered the price you want as a part ex as they will give you the 'trade' price. You might actually be better off selling it yourself, however this could be a lot of hassle. As per the above, the best time to buy a new car is at the very end of the month when they are desperate to hit their targets, especially over December or January when it's really quiet. If the car is a factory build then this probably won't matter too much, but if they have something in stock that is not quite what you want I would actually go for it, you will definately get a better deal. I bought a Fiesta two years ago and got £2K for my little W reg 106 (and it booked at £2K as well so that was fair). I also got £2K off the basic cost of my car due to the Summer of Love promotion they were running. Great deal and this was because I took a 3 door car in silver which I expressly didn't want. It meant the difference in about £30 a month and immediately delivery, that £30 stacks up over 3 years. I would recommend you get your car valeted and touch up and scratches or stone chips, make sure all the service docs are up to date too before they look at it for p/x.

firstly... its a mondeo.. so whats really worth anything?

lights / glass / wheels tyres/ suspension units and brakes/ doors/ bumpers/ alternator / starter motor / if its injection, the pump/ carbs arent worth anything / maybe the water pump and cyliner head.. and the exhaust if its any good.

as a whole car its worth maybe 50 quid at the scrappers... gut it yourself and flog the bits on ebay and get the rest to teh scrap yard..at todays prices scrap is fetching a good price.

or, advertise it on Ebay, list its good points (there wont be many) and someone will buy it for spares for their mondeo... if its a runner and can be driven away, you MIGHT get 200 quid... and you might not.

what you want is a an owner who crashed theirs and only has 3rd party ins.. its far cheaper to buy yours and scavenge the bits than it will be to buy them, even at a scrap yard... ( ive had good success doing this on old scrappers)

good luck..and next time DONT BUY A FORD...

Your best bet is to take pictures and sell the parts on ebay.
