It is their "GIFTS" that make them spiritual GIANTS.
If the gift of healing was still in place why did Paul have to leave a friend, strong in the faith behind, because he was ill?
IF SPEAKING IN TONGUES IS SUCH A GOOD THING FOR BELIEVERS, Why does the Bible say "Tongues are a sign, no not for believers, but for unbelievers only, and it shall be a rejected sign." That is in scripture text. God says the sign will be rejected. It was rejected by the Jews on the day of Pentecost in A.D. 35, and in A.D. 70 Jerusalem was sacked and destroyed and the nation of Israel was wandering until 1948.
Two of the signs they believe that still exist, were taken away.
The signs were for the purpose of bringing unbelievers into the Church Age, which was completed when the Canon of scripture was completed. The Gift of Tongues in first mentioned to the Jews in Isaiah: "For they will speak to my people with stammering lips and in an unknown tongue." It was a sign for unbelieving Jews, not for the Christians of our day.

Who says they do ? No doubt some get a bit carried away with gifts like tongues , prophecy etc but not all. Bottom line is a lot of people have been saved from their lives of wretchedness thru efforts of pentacostal churches as well as more main stream churches

I am not a supporter of this movement which I feel is on the fringe.
This joke I heard some time ago says something about it,
A simple Christian dies and meets St.Peter at the gates of Heaven,He is full of childlike awe and excitedly asks Peter many questions, then he hears the sound of music coming from a completely walled off section and asks,` Who is behind that wall?
Quickly Peter says to him`, Keep your voice down man, thats the Charismatic section they believe that they are the only ones up here!

Your right, just because some people prefer worshipping the Spirit of God in a quieter way... (for some their life is an act of worship in and of itself and they don't have a desire to attend church as a worshipper) it does not mean someone is less than (or greater than) another. In a family... (especially the spiritual family of God), each are unique, needed and precious in the eyes of the one who loves and created them and that is what truly counts. (Remember it is Father God who is the author and finisher of our faith.... and He knows what is best for each.)
It seems to be some Charismatic believers are overcome with visions, dreams, and speak in a spiritual prayer language and experience other spiritual gifts, because they were given a desire to seek after a 'deeper' awareness of the reality and power of the Spirit of God in their lives ... this does not make them 'better than another'.... only who they were created to Be... according to the timing and unfolding of Father's eternal plan in their life. We each are a necessary part of the whole and one need not ever think another 'aspect' of the body of Christ is greater or less than themselves.
It seems to be some Charismatic believers 'seem' to think they are better than other Christians, to those who have not yet experienced the same passion, or spiritual gifts. Those who experience them in this way... (as an unexperienced observer) sometimes come from a place of projecting their own concept on the one who they think, 'seems' to think they are better ... or sometimes they come from a place of questioning their own uniqueness by way of comparison... and project from that perspective... or........... ... This seems to be a normal reaction/response among the family of God ... and can be used by the Spirit of the Lord, if need be, to impart a desire for a greater spiritual reality ... in the observer... or a place of loving acceptance in all concerned, if indeed the one who is charismatic 'thinks they are better' and is brought to a place of humility through their spiritual growth process, in due season.
It seems to be................................... *smile this is my experience as one who has been both an observer and a participant in the spiritual reality of the Spirit of the Lord.

'Cause they haven't read 1 Corinthians 13-14 and think that speaking in tongues and these manifestations of the Spirit are the end for which we should strive.

Because religion is madness and if you are madder than someone else then you're more religious than he.
Watch the Borat !! He goes in a pentecostal church , you must see those charismatics talking mambojampo , well very pathetic.
