Yes, because when I have been really down about something, they are the ones who genuinely are there for me. You soon find out who your friends are. My family ae like genuine friends- I think that means a family is 'close'

The only immediate family I have left is my six children and one brother. My brother and two of my children live in other states. The four children who do live where I do seem to leave me out--don't want me to know what they are doing. They are adults, but I wish that we were closer. One is married, and though he lives nearby I rarely see him. The other three work all day, then stay up all night--so though two of them live right next door, I see little of them either.
My brother is busy working many hours, preparing to get a decent sized pension when he retires in a couple of years. He has a wife, and a son in college--so rarely even has time to talk on the phone.
Same goes for my two out-of-state children. One just remarried last month, and has no time. The other has some emotional problems, and spends most of his time with his girlfriend.
I really miss my parents and grandparents (who have been gone for some years). We were much more in contact, and much more informative of how our lives were going.

We are close since we see eachother a lot, and we see eachother a lot, because we should (as a rule). Mainly, we help eachother, but because of them there are many points of stagnation in my life. If they were not my family, I wouldn't like to know them or even have them as friends. However, I love my close family a lot: my husband, my child, and I would do anything for them with all my heart without constraints, not asking anything in return.

I use to be very close to my family( mom, dad, aunts, uncles, sister),
I was the one they ran to to fix all their problems.
When they needed me all they had to do was call & I was there.
I gave them money, fixed their probs, did their bank books, shopping, made their appointments, took them to their appointments.
I got tired of the times I needed them & they were "busy" so I stopped doing all those things & they stopped "needing" anything to do with me.
I'm on the outside looking in now.
I miss them very much, but it is time they grew up I guess.
I just wish I could be a part of their lives still in some small way.
