It only proves that deep down you really do believe.

Atheists care because religious faith effects their lives regardless of their nonbelief.

I could argue that since you feel it necessary to concern yourself with atheism to the point that you ask a "question" just to COMPLAIN about it and us indicates a secret nonbelief in YOU. Does that make me right? Of course not. Don't flatter yourself... you DON'T have some special insight into the depths of our "soul". If you did, you would realize that your little hypothesis about "deep down belief" is a total CROCK.

By the way, THIS is why atheists care: http://youtube.com/watch?v=w4fQA9mt-Mg

This is so ridiculous! It's not like Atheists stand, shaking their fists at the sky, saying, "Damn you, non-existent God!" Think about it. They argue against religiouus people because they see them falling all over themselves to worship something that isn't there, and they think it's bizarre, foolish and displays ignorance, so they are only trying to help these religious people by pointing out to them that it doesn't really exist. And if al atheists deep down did believe, why would they bother hiding it from themselves? Surely it's nicer to believe in a lovely God who's gonna look after you, than it is to accept we mean nothing in terms of the universe and will beocme nothing when we die? Atheists choose the harder path of truth.

Atheist is a term that describes what someone doesn't believe in - it is not representative of what someone does believe in - that is what I hate about this word. This board is for Religion and Spirituality - it would be presumptious of any Christian to presume that it is exclusive of anyone other than christians. I constantly enter this forum because I find it entertaining and challenging. I once believed in God and the Bible, therefore I find that I often am very opinionated in many of the questions posed - if it is about Christianity - I can relate to it 'cause I once thought like that, if it is about Science and evolution, then I also have opinions and attitudes in tune with this because it is more representative of what I now relate to. This is not an exclusive Christian forum, it is an question and answer site. I enjoy the subjective matter of it, whether it is pro or other.

Hi Chipper, It is a terrible reality that not all human beings will come to the truth, even Jesus had great trouble with stubborn unbelievers and as human nature really dosen`t change then that will always hold for mankind, having said this there are of course many who are in darkness and only need someone to bring the light of Christ to them to set them free and eventually these will come to the truth.
As for the stubborn ones who insult and rage what can you say?
empty vessals make the most noise!

This is such a stupid question I think its going to be hard to frame a response.

Do you really believe in fairies? No? Well you're here, right next door to the mythology room and there are pagans in here who believe in them... that means deep down you really do believe in them.

Of course I admit its not the same, given YOUR beliefs you're probably ignorant enought to accept other non-existent beings but for an atheist its a big insult.

Last week, I vowed to set aside $1 for each time this question is asked on Y!A. I said that when I had enough, I would take a trip to the Bahamas.

Thank you for helping to fund my trip.

We only defend ourselves from people trying to force religion down our throats. If we start offendeing it's because answering the same questions over & over gets irritating.

"It only proves that deep down you really do believe".

No, that would be a lie. Have you thought about asking yourself why you need to lie for your beliefs?

I only insult those who are disrespectful, rude, or ignorant. I insult those who try and force their belief system on me. I have no interest in proving anything doesn;t exist. I can't prove it doesn;t exist. Not only do I not believe, I don't care.

Only people who have doubt are offended. Deep down it means you really don't believe.
