Do you truly trust this stuff? Do you extremely imagine atheists comprehend extra about the Bible than Christians do? Are you incapable of seeing the insults that come from atheists? As a Christian I even ought to assert that we offend atheists only through respiration. Atheists reject the idea of God and trust theists to be idiots. The deck is stacked hostile to us in the previous we even communicate, and the instantaneous we can we are attacked. some Christians get bored to death with the consistent abuse, and they commence giving atheists a flavor of their personal medicine ~ to which atheists cry foul. I have a project for you; Create yet another account so as that no human being is popular with who you're, and then initiate posting questions less than the guise of being a Christian. ensure your questions are conceivable although. seem on the questions different Christians positioned as a lot as grant you some recommendations. Then sit down lower back and watch the atheists bash you of their feeding frenzy. that is going to grant you a enormously sturdy theory of who's insulting and who isn't.

To Jordan Y: "R/S" = "Religion and Spirituality".
SOME atheists are mean spirited about it, but many are simply expressing their beliefs. A lot of the religious people here are also extremely mean-spirited.
As to insulting faith, if believing in something that doesn't make sense to others keeps you from drinking yourself to death or doing something terrible, I will not take that away from them. I have different beliefs than most people, but I do know that taking away someone's psychological comfort, no matter what I think of its truth or not, is not a kind thing to do. I will state what I believe, but I won't force anyone else to believe what I do - they have to come along on their own.

Being a good citizen, and not a mean spirited atheist on R/S I'd say you think this way only because you don't know that in this world exist thousands and thousands more books on top of your Bible. Now that you start reading them you won't feel insulted any more!
Glad that I was able to help you!

Atheists are not faithless. They have faith, it is just severely wrong. Their faith is that there is no God. They will find out the truth eventually. By the way, that does constitute as a religion technically.

I hope it would be easy to insult faith anyway.
We're here to provide a counterpoint to the ignorant superstitious ideas of practicing theists, a voice of reason and rationality and we will not go away.
The pre-scientific world views espoused by theists have been obsolete since Galileo.

I am not 'atheist' but I find myself occasionally accidentally insulting the Christian population on 'r/s'

I'm here to discuss. I don't believe in nsulting faith, but we do see many here with the attitude that my god's better than yours. Thats schoolyard mentality at it's worst.

You're SO right! It is easy to insult faith! Just because someone is ignorant and superstitious it doesn't justify insulting them!

Mostly we atheists resent the fact that we are being discriminated since we are not superstitious.
