You can try basic skin care to prevent/control acne.

Tips:

1. Don't try to squeeze out blackheads or whiteheads, as that may lead to further infection. Picking up acne at second stage may lead to scarring. your doctor will remove the comedones with sterile instruments if it is required.

2. Some people believe that excessive sweat or dirt can cause acne. In blackheads what we see as black is not dirt, but oxidized sebum. Excessive cleaning of skin will not cure acne, but may aggravate the condition. Gently clean your face twice a day with mild soap or cleansers formulated to care for acne and warm water. Pat dry, don't rub.

3. Noncomedogenic products are certified to not cause or aggravate acne. Use noncomedogenic cosmetics and skin care products.

4. Most of the acne treatments make the skin sensitive to sun. Talk to your doctor about that and protect yourself with sunscreen whenever you go out. Also adopt other methods to protect your skin from sun. Avoid tanning beds and lamps.

5. Use cosmetic treatments such as facials, only after consulting your doctor. Facials may aggravate your acne.

6. Avoid touching acne spots with your hands. It may worsen the condition. You should also avoid any hair coming on the forehead.

7. Use of more than prescribed dose of medication may put you in trouble. In your hurry to get rid of acne faster, do not overuse any medication.

8. Keep your face free of makeup as much as possible. Let the skin breathe fresh air. Also avoid using any oil or oil-rich product for your hair. Use oil-free hair care products after consulting your doctor.

Sweating a lot can play a part in getting acne if you don't wash it off. The best way to prevent acne on your body (and your face as it is a part of your body) is to wash your body every other day with a good soap. By good I mean a soap that isn't full of harsh chemicals. I find Dove great, but you can use what you like. Not clogging your pores with make-up or spray on tans and all that stuff really helps too. Eat a healthy diet, drink LOTS of water and the secret to healthy skin is eating plain YOGURT! If you do get a zit you can easily zap with with toothpaste white toothpaste! It has to be white though! You put the toothpaste on the zit and leave it on until it starts to burn. Don't to that more than twice a day though! Water, yogurt and clean skin is the key. If you develop a problem with acne you should talk to your doctor.

The best way is to use a good moisturizing soap like dove, every single day.

Be sure to wash off makeup as soon as you get home (using oil-free or specially marked types of makeup is a good idea too!)

Avoid touching your face too much as the oils in your fingers tend to be a major cause of acne.

Don't dry out your face too much either! This can cause wrinkling or flaking in later years.

Using a medicated scrub pad or astringent can help too.

If your problems are so bad their painful, by all means go to your physician! They now have prescription acne medications as well.

Hope this helps! I used to have terrible acne, and mine was all over my body... so I know exactly what your going through right now.

As any parent would perscribe, wash your face at minimum 2 times a day with warm water. The warm water helps open up the pores and wash out any dirt. Then rinses with cold water to close the pores and stop any dirt getting in.

It is also a good idea to cut sugary snacks and drinks out of your diet. Try to steer clear of sugars for about a week and i am 100% certain you will see a difference!
