I wouldn't bother him with it. Men in general burp alot... it's sort of a manly thing. If he says he's fine and doesn't want to talk about it, there's nothing else you can do. Especially if his doctor says he is fine.
You just need to get used to it.
If it is bothering him tho, and he has asked for you help.... tell him to talk to a GNC store personnel... or any general nutrition center of that sort... they specialize in all natural supplements that help with that sort of thing.

Its a buildup of gas in the stomach which has to come out. He probably eats too fast and swallows air. Very spicy food can cause burping after meals. Ask him to tone down the spice, chew his food, eat with his mouth closed.

Well first off - your friend is being really quite ill-mannered if he's continually belching out loud in company, especially close enough to allow you to be able to smell what comes out of his mouth!!
Either he has really bad oral hygiene and needs to brush his teeth more often, or he has a food intolerance that is causing excess wind in his body. Either way he needs to do something about it himself and I doubt there is anything in terms of remedies he can take.
If the doctor has cleared him of any problems, I reckon it's probably down to his diet and he needs to address that himself.
