They will probably be in Kuwait anywhere from a few days to a week. I would think the flight from Kuwait to Germany would only be about 6-8 hours, then he'll be all yours after they get through all the weapon turn-ins and such. Since you said he was gone 15 months, I'm assuming he was extended. If that's the case, a lot of their equipment may have been shipped back already, so they may get out of Kuwait a little faster. If they have to load ships, it may take a little longer.
My husband has been deployed to Iraq twice (extended once). Both times it was less than a week from the time they left Iraq to when he landed on US soil. I always think those last few days are the worst part of the whole deployment because they are so close, but you still have no idea really what's going on. Enjoy having him home!

How long did it take for him to get from Germany to Kuwait? My husband was in Kuwait from the United States in about 3 days. Left on a Wednesday, got there on a Friday.

I am currently in Iraq, and have flown to Germany from Kuwait many times, its about 6 hours flying time from Kuwait to Frankfurt, Germany. but then you got to remember that time zone differance. Example:, if he leaves kuwait at 3pm, and the time zone differance is 2 hours, he will arive at 7pm. A lot has to depend on if he is taking a civilian flight or a military flight. But no matter what, the flying time will be the same, 6hrs.

16-18 hours by commercial airliners, 30-48 by C-130, and about 18-22 hours on a C-141. And about 4.5 hours in a F-18 full speed ahead. He may have to hitch a ride on 2 of the 4 of these planes. So I would guestimate 24 hours, allow 6 more for layovers and whatnots. Just a little bit faster than Lindburg. Hope you see him home soon.

A couple or few weeks. He may end up having to pull shifts to load there equiptment ie any vehicles they are bringing back on to ships and then they will fly home to the same base they left out of for outprocessing. The whole process actually took my unit four weeks but we were loading vehicles for other units while we were in Kuwait.

Why on earth would you expose your husband to the dangers of having any anti-war nut know he's currently travelling from Kuwait to Germany? Have you NEVER heard of operational security? This is the internet!!! What are you thinking???

When I left we flew to Prague then Philadelphia then Colorado Springs to demobilize. We were there for 3 days then home. The jet lag and lack of sleep sucked but it was sure good to be home! Then again, there was a unit en route to Colorado Springs to demobilize. While they were in the air they got orders BACK to Iraq for another year. Poor bastards. So until your hubby is standing in the doorway, I wouldn't count on anything.

I truly wish your husband the best luck out of that quagmire..
if he flies from Kuwait to the east cost, it will take roughly 16 hours with one hour layover in Germany.
Again, my sincerest wishes for a happy and safe return to your husband.
