I believe that it takes greater faith to be a athiest then a christian myself. The reasons that i believe this is simple. First off the be a athiest means you have faith in that you know everything. That is a large step of faith from were i set. I mean a person that knows everything is so hard to come by these day. We call them know it alls or fools. Also as a athiest can't believe anything he came see and reason out. How does a athiest explain reaching from a light switch and expecting it to work. I mean it takes faith to think it will work, does it not. You hit a switch on one wall and a light overthere comes on. How do you know the electricy is on or that the wires are still there or that the power company is still there, faith. Faith is the application of knowedge nothing more. So blind faith is what athiest are working on faith in there perfect wisdom or lack there of?

I have enjoyed your post. In requards to the christian faith. It is proved by 6000 years of recorded history and the bible. recorded witness statements and the records of governments as well as The teaching of the prophets and prediction that have come to pass. Thus one can't denounce it as mere religion as it is based on true events and as it has a information base to support it many claims. In laymens terms evidence.

I have explained it very well i believe. A athiest faith is based in his knowedge of knowing everything there is about weather God exist. In other word you claim that you know with out a dought you know God does not exist. This makes you all knowing by your own claims. To hold any other claim would not be consistent with athiest beliefs. Actuall a agnostic claims he does not know. But you are not agnostic. You know as most of you do not know what even tomorrow will bring, you might want to give yourselfs over to researching the bible instead of attacking it out right. A wise person admits he is a not that wise and searches from truth. It pays to know the truth and it has long term benefits.

" Faith is the application of knowedge nothing more. " - this is patently false.
"How do you know the electricy is on or that the wires are still there or that the power company is still there, faith" - I know there is electricity because the light came on.
"First off the be a athiest means you have faith in that you know everything"- wrong again; being an atheist means that I dont know everything- unlike many christians who do in fact feel that they know everything "because its in the bible."
p.s. really...your whole "argument" is a mess; it is really hard to know where to begin teasing apart your many fictions, misunderstandings, and crap that I dont even think you believe.
.....but Im sure you will get a fan club here, unfortunately for us all, they all get to vote too.

First: It's spelled ATHEIST. Little pet peeve of mine.
Second: No, atheism does not require any faith at all.
As for the light switch, it's not faith that keeps me reaching for it, but rather the knowledge that it has worked many times before. As long as the required conditions remain in place, it's reasonable to expect that the switch will work the next time.
"What if the wiring is faulty/the current is off?" Then the light will fail, an electrician will be called and the problem will be fixed. That's not faith, that's just the facts, ma'am.
"What if the power company goes bankrupt and dissolves overnight?" Not a reasonable question; such things do happen, but seldom without warning. Both the light switch and the power company are human creations and their functions are completely explicable.
Third: Atheists do not claim to know everything. It's religion that claims to have all the answers.

No, that is plain rediculous do you listen to yourself when you start thinking up these ludicrous ideas? I think the answer would be no again. It takes faith in nothing, or specifically the sole belief that you deny the exsistence of a God or Gods, to be an atheist (atheist is spelled with an EI not IE, you need more faith in English class I think) and that doesn't sound like it requires very much faith if any at all. I'm sorry you are wrong and this topic is utter trash. Are you high?

If you believe it takes faith to admit you do not know something then you need to reevaluate what faith means. Not believing in something does not require any faith. I could easily turn around and accuse you of having more faith than pagans because you do not worship Odin.
You make the mistake of assuming Atheists say they know everything. The fact is that we do not know everything and a lot of us find no harm in admitting it. You also are making broad generalizations of the word faith. You believe in something of which has not evidence and as such it is blind faith. Sure I have faith that the sun will rise tomorrow, but that is based on previous experience. I have faith that there is electricity available to the light switch, but I do not blindly assume that power will always be available to that light switch, and it will always work no matter what the scenario.
Please, again reevaluate what faith is. Believing in something without the evidence to back up your beliefs is the faith you have. Most Atheists do not hold such belief structures as yours, we are willing to admit when we are wrong and do not make broad statements without the evidence to back it up.

You seem interested in this issue but not well read; I would be glad to help you understand things more. You can email me through here.
Do you need these points addressed? I'll do the first one - "First off to be an atheist means you have faith that you know everything." - not true; it simply means that you believe in no gods. One could be only mostly confident in their guess, and still be an atheist.
Keep thinking! It takes some time for it all to sink in. It's a complex world, and most of the people you know are misleading you.
p.s. - i see your additional details now... i disagree, i am an agnostic, and i am also a staunch atheist.

Let's see.. If you're an atheist then you have to believe,
(1) The Earth by shear chance just happened to circle the sun at the exact right distance, at the exact correct velocity and with the proper elliptical orbit pattern to maintain a proper environment for life. Any variation and life would not be possible.
(2) The moon would just coincidentally be the right size and distance to keep Earth's rotation balanced and not wobbly. The same moon that provides tides that are not too forceful or not too weak.
(3) That preorganic hydrocarbon molecules just randomly came together to form DNA and cells within a 5 billion year time frame. Scientist haven't been able to do this in a lab with ideal conditions, yet atheists want you to have the faith it happened in nature. Most scientists agree the odds of this happening are slimmer than a tornado going through a junkyard and putting together a functioning 747 airplane! That's how complex cellular life is.
(4) That all matter, energy, time, just happened to exist in a super dense, super small singularity and just happened to poof like magic one day for no obvious reason. Why you ask? have faith my son, it's just the way it is.
Here's a way to see how much faith an atheist has to have. Let's say a terrorist was holding us hostage and said he was going to roll dice to see when he killed us. He said if he rolled double sixes he'd let us live but if not he'd kill us. He would roll them 2 million times. He rolls once--double sixes. He rolls again double sixes. We watch with anticipation with each roll as each time we get double sixes. Two million rolls later we are walking away.
The atheist logic: Well, we were lucky. I have blind faith we are here by chance.
My reply: No sucker!! the dice were loaded!!

You are an idiot how do atheists pretend to know everything. Religion trys to answer all the questions not atheism. We know the light is going to work because we understand electricity and have built are light to work so. That is not blind faith that is presumpted fact. Please do not accuse us of being ignorant and know it alls. Atheism is the absense of magical sky daddys. Religion attempts to answer everything based on a book written by man. And supposedly influenced by god but contradicts itself over and over again. And weirdly follows the moral code of the time and day it was written almost as if the view were from a human. And not a everlasting diety.

Good effort. but it doesn't take faith to accomplish anything it takes knowledge. That is an effort but with out the burden of faith. My knowledge of descent from a line of apes all the way back to bacteria does not challenge my faith. This knowledge however will challenge tour faith. ergo you work more at it 100% more than me.

I believe it does. When you think about it if as Christians we are wrong then we die and that's the end of it. If an Atheist is wrong they die and go to hell. I'd want to have a lot of faith in what I believe if a were an Atheist coz the alternative would scare the life out of me.
